Policies

Uniform Requirements

All students should be prepared for class with the appropriate uniform and proper shoes. All hair shoulder length or longer must be up and away from the face and buns are REQUIRED for ballet classes. Warm-ups may be worn with teacher permission only. Students may not participate unless they have the appropriate dance shoes. No street shoes are to be worn in the studios.

Intermediate and Advanced levels (ONLY) may wear solid colored leotards in addition to their basic blacks. Camisole shirts are not acceptable, nor are layered leotards. Please purchase styles that fit appropriately so you do not have to layer for modesty’s sake.

Pre Dance/Pre Dance II	Pink tank leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes for both levels. Black tap shoes are needed for Pre Dance II only
Combo I & II	Burgundy tank leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes (no jazz shoes please)
Ballet & Pointe	Black leotards, pink tights, pink ballet shoes Pointe shoes required for pointe class, please check with your instructor for proper style and fit for your foot Buns are required for girls with hair that is shoulder length or longer All hair regardless of length should be neatly secured away from face and eyes *Character shoes and skirt required at teacher's request
Modern & Acrodance	Black leotards, tan footless/convertible tights, no shoes
Lyrical & Contemporary	Black leotards, tan footless/convertible tights, no shoes
Jazz	Black leotards, tan tights, black slip-on jazz shoes unless instructor requests tan Black jazz pants can be worn with teacher permission
Hip Hop	Fitted, solid colored, tee/tank shirt, loose black pants and hip hop sneakers Black hip hop shoes may be required for performance
Musical Theater	Black leotards, tan tights, black jazz shoes (tan jazz shoes may be required as a performance addition) Beg MT III and above will also need 1 1/2 inch tan character heels Additional shoes may be required for the performance as is necessitated by costuming and/or theater style.
Tap	Black leotards, tan tights and tap shoes. Specific shoe requirements below Beg Tap I-V..................Tan Flats Int Tap Levels...............Black Flats T/A Tap........................Black Flats
Boys	White tee/tank shirt, black dance pants/shorts, and appropriate shoes for specific subjects. Boys generally wear black jazz shoes, black hip hop sneakers, white or black ballet shoes and flat black oxford tap shoes.
